Kamala Prince Selected for Prestigious MM&M Hall of Femme Award

LUCKIE’s senior pharma team leader Kamala Prince is one of 16 women being recognized nationally for her ability to innovate and inspire.

MM&M’s Hall of Femme honors healthcare professionals who set the bar higher within their organizations. Out of 100 nominations, MM&M selected 16 women for induction into the 2019 Hall of Femme class, including Prince, announced April 8th in New York by the trade publication. As a member of this prestigious group, Prince has proven she is up for every challenge and ready to go above and beyond to ensure results exceed business goals and achieve creative excellence.

“When Kamala Prince joined our LUCKIE team, we knew we hired an inspirational leader and innovative healthcare marketer,” said LUCKIE President John Gardner. “Having worked with Kamala for over a decade during her client-side days, it is simply amazing to see Kamala Prince earn this well-deserved national recognition for her hard work, leadership and measurable results.  It is also a joy to have her on the LUCKIE team leading our pharmaceutical practice.”

Now in its fourth year, MM&M selects women who have achieved success within their own organization, inspired colleagues, and, through innovative and transformative work, elevated the practice of healthcare marketing to new heights.

Prince joined LUCKIE in 2019 as vice president and Pharma Strategic Business Unit Leader with 16 years of pharmaceutical industry marketing experience. She led patient marketing at United Therapeutics, a biotech firm located in Research Triangle Park, N.C. Previously, Prince spent 12 years at GlaxoSmithKline and ViiV Healthcare—a LUCKIE client-partner since 2010—where she held marketing positions in direct-to-consumer and healthcare professional marketing, working across multiple therapeutic areas. Prince earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Duke University and an MBA from the University of Michigan. She is based in Raleigh, N.C.

In the agency’s Hall of Femme nomination, LUCKIE cited Prince’s leadership by example, mentoring a team of strategists, designers and writers on work with ViiV Healthcare, Piedmont Healthcare and United Therapeutics, as well as her thought leadership in healthcare marketing as a key writer for LUCKIE’s health-related blog topics. LUCKIE also cited Prince’s active membership in the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) and American Marketing Association, as well as her community activities including mentoring young professionals.

“Hall of Femme is an amazing opportunity to celebrate the achievements of some of the most senior female leaders in the biopharma, medical device, and agency sectors of the healthcare industry,” said Kara Giannecchini, associate editor, Haymarket Studio (publishers of MM&M). “These are women who have made significant impacts in healthcare marketing and communications and who have worked tirelessly to meet any and all challenges head on.

“I am honored to share the stage with each and every one of them,” Giannecchini added in reference to the June 6 awards ceremony to be held in New York. The Hall of Femme event, held in partnership with Step Up, will feature networking and panel discussions with experts providing women with the tools and insights needed to help them chart a path all the way to the C-suite should they choose.

In addition to the in person honors, this cadre of talented women will be profiled in the June issue of MM&M. Prince is in good company. This year’s 16 Hall of Femme inductees are available online. MM&M will also celebrate 20 Women to Watch who consistently bring their “A” game and inspire those around them to do the same. Profiles of these honorees are available on the MM&M website.
